9/3/08, Edinburgh, and 16/3/08, Newton Stewart: Premiere performances of new orchestral commission
March 2008 will see the first performance of Mesh, a new commission for the Meadows Chamber Orchestra, at the Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh. Mesh is the first full orchestral piece by Jonathan Pitkin since Borrowed Time, which was premiered by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in 2004.
The MCO’s tradition of programming new commissions alongside established masterpieces has won it a unique place in Scottish musical life, and critical acclaim, over almost 30 years.
